Fireworks: Several of our local communities plan to continue with their fireworks displays. If you do plan to attend these fireworks displays, it’s a good idea to get a plan in place on where you will watch these from prior to the fireworks. • If you have friends that live near the display, see if they will allow you to watch the fireworks from their yard or a place on their property where you will be able to socially distance. • Attempt to avoid places like parks where large numbers of people will be gathering close together making social distancing impossible. • Think outside the box! Where would you still be able to view these without going into the main public areas? If you are not attending or observing fireworks on July 4 th or if your area is not having a fireworks display this year, there are still so many things that you can do at home with your family to have a good time! Cookouts/Gatherings: You can still party but try to tone it down a bit! Keep this open to only your close circle of friends/family. Try to keep any of these things outdoors to maintain social distancing. Other things to consider: • Avoid shared utensils. • Attempt to have individual servings of food items rather than shared serving bowls. • Designate one person to serve food rather than having a buffet style meal. • Service single serve drinks (cans, bottled drinks/water). Tips and activities to help maintain normalcy with your children and young family members: • Ice cream or “Sundae parties” • Glow stick parties • Squirt guns/water balloons • Outdoor movie nights • Backyard camping • Hiking/swimming during the day
