2025
ANNUAL AWARD WINNERS
Each year PDA seeks annual award nominations from our district and local dental societies and the state’ s dental school deans. Those nominations are considered and voted on by a committee of PDA’ s five immediate past presidents.
The recipients of the 2025 PDA Distinguished Service Award and PDA Public Service Award received their honors on Friday April 25 during the Awards Dinner.
Outgoing president Dr. Cary Limberakis presented these awards.

DR. CYNTHIA L. SCHULER
It is an honor to present our PDA Distinguished Award to Dr Cynthia Schuler.
She is a consummate leader who has made such a monumental impact in so many areas and a fantastic mentor who has guided so many people along the way. By every measure, her extraordinary service, leadership, dedication and mentorship have brought great credit upon the profession and inspired everyone who knows her.
Tenth District trustee Dr. Beth Troy, in the district’ s nomination letter, described Cindy as“ a true leader, the tip of our spear, the lioness of our domain!” It’ s clear from the stories relayed by her colleagues that Dr. Schuler has not only achieved tremendous career success and made an everlasting mark on organized dentistry, but has done so by making valuable personal connections that have deeply impacted her colleagues and mentees.
She served both the Washington-Greene Dental Society and Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania( the 10th District) as president, and has held pretty much every key position in 10th District – having been on their Board of Directors for 40 years. Today she remains their Elected Secretary, a position she has held since 2014, and is also the Executive Director, having taken the reins in 2021.
