PDA Honored for Recruitment and Retention
PDA has been honored with the American Dental Association ’ s award for the Most Improved Active Member Retention Rate .
On June 24 , ADA hosted a webinar to recognize the recipients for the 2020 Membership Recruitment and Retention awards . PDA ’ s award confirms that our efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic were well appreciated by our members . This welldeserved ADA recognition is also a result of continuing , collaborative efforts by many of you to engage your colleagues as we promote the positive work of organized dentistry and build momentum in recruiting new members .

ADA Honored for Pandemic Response
Just as PDA has received well-earned recognition for our efforts , ADA has also been recognized by multiple organizations for standout efforts made during the COVID-19 crisis and recovery .
“ The ADA has received an abundance of awards recognizing our exceptional response to the COVID crisis , helping our members succeed and promoting the health of the public . Our efforts provided guidelines based on the best science available to keep ourselves , our team and our patients safe ,” said Dr . Linda Himmelberger , ADA Third District Trustee . “ We can all be justifiably proud of what our ADA accomplished and celebrate these achievements . The ADA has got our backs !”
The Annual American Business Awards , the nation ’ s premiere business awards program , awarded ADA a Silver Stevie Award in the category of the Most Valuable Non-Profit COVID-19 Response , selecting ADA from more than 3,800 entries . Judges noted the “ exceptional reach and scope ” of ADA ’ s efforts and the fact that the ADA “ helped dentists stay open safely .”
ADA also won a Golden Trumpet Award from the Publicity Club of Chicago for COVID-19 External Response : The ADA Leads Dentistry Through COVID-19 .
In addition , ADA Executive Director Dr . Kathy O ’ Loughlin received a pair of awards – the Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award for 2021 along with the 2021 Samuel B . Shapiro Award from the Association Forum Foundation .
Most recently , ADA won an Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America - Chicago Chapter (“ The American Dental Association Leads Dentistry Through A Public Health Crisis ”).
