A Tribute to Camille Kostelac-Cherry, Esq.
“
Camille, congratulations on
an OUTSTANDING career
at PDA. In an organization
where professional leadership is
constantly turning over, you have
been the anchor that provided
the continuity required. As the
face of PDA and representative
for every dentist in Pennsylvania
for 25 years, you have made us all
proud. You have always managed
your position with honesty and
integrity and in the best interest
of the membership. You have met
so many challenges successfully
and resolved the seemingly
irresolvable on many occasions.
Your innovations have enhanced
the image of PDA and profited
PDA in more than one way.
It has been a wonderful 25
year professional and personal
relationship. I know, for certain,
that together we have created a
greater understanding between
the PDA and the State Board of
Dentistry. PDA today is a much
better place than it was on that
first day you walked through the
doorway into headquarters, and
that says it all! From the heart,
thanks for all you have done for
so many of us and best wishes
as you move into your life’s next
endeavor.”

“
It has been nothing but a pleasure
working with Camille. As a local
officer, district officer, PDA delegate,
PDA BOT member, PDA committee
member or chair, ADA delegate and
PDAIS Board member and Chairman,
I have experienced her compassion,
leadership, sense of direction for the
PDA and witnessed her working with
PDA staff and members. At times it
appeared that she had the role of a
Cub Scout Den Mother trying to herd
cats! She had a sense of where we
needed to be and an idea of how to
get us there, but we always did our
best to present a challenge for her to
rise above. She will be missed by all
that have had the pleasure of
serving with her.
Her legal background gave me an extra
sense of security as she led us through
the last 25 years of ups and downs. She
can rest assured that she has left the PDA
a better place due to her commitment to
the staff, PDA members and general public
of Pennsylvania. The BOT has a tough job
ahead selecting her replacement.”
