Dr. Dishler’s acceptance speech:
I want to thank the Awards Committee of the Second
District and the PDA for choosing me to be the recipient
of the Recognition Award.
They chose to honor me for two of my main passions –
of course after my wife and family.
I believe strongly that one of the important contributions
organized dentistry can make is helping to shape
legislation to improve care for our patients and to help
make the dental environment better for our members.
I urge you to participate in PADPAC and send those e-mails
to legislators.
And I think it is our responsibility to help the underserved
get needed dental treatment. We will never solve the
unmet needs by our volunteer philanthropy.
But, we have no right to ignore it either.
If you are not already a volunteer for Dental Lifeline, I urge
you to sign up to “Take One.” And I hope to see you all in
Wilkes-Barre at MOM-n-PA our Free Dental Mission on
June 7 and 8.
Helping someone to achieve Oral Health with no
expectation of remuneration is often far more rewarding
than receiving a check.
