November for Europe launch of Disney + ad tier
Following the successful adtier
launch in the US , Disney +
in the UK will introduce its adsupported
subscription plan in
November , giving consumers
more ways to subscribe than
ever before and the ultimate
flexibility in selecting a
subscription plan that suits
their needs .
From November 1st ,
the new Standard with Ads ,
in addition to Standard
and Premium subscription
plans , will be available in the
following countries : United

Kingdom , France , Germany , Switzerland , Italy , Spain , Norway , Sweden and Denmark . “ The introduction of the ad-supported plan marks the next evolution for Disney + in the UK , as we provide greater choice for our customers and our world-class advertising partners alike ,” stated Jan Koeppen , president of The Walt Disney Company EMEA . “ Disney + continues to set itself apart in today ’ s streaming landscape , offering unrivalled value , genre-defining TV series and blockbuster movies set within a simple and seamless experience .”
Existing customers will remain on their current subscription , which will be renamed Disney + Premium and will have the option to switch to the Standard Plan or Standard with Ads Plan .

Sky awarded rights damages in Ireland
Following successful legal
action taken by Sky , licensee
Co Kilkenny in the Republic
of Ireland has been ordered
to pay € 32,538 in damages
for infringing Sky ’ s copyright
by showing Sky Sports
programming illegally in their
premises .
A permanent court
injunction prohibiting the
licensee from showing Sky
programming in the premises
without the correct commercial
viewing agreement from Sky
Business has been granted
on the grounds that the
Defendant has repeatedly been
infringing Sky ’ s copyright since
2016 .
Sky says it is committed
to visiting every licensed
premises reported by other
publicans and / or organisations
for illegally showing Sky

and have arranged to visit hundreds of pubs each week in towns and cities across Ireland this season .

“ Venues who continue to televise content in this way are breaking the law , and are at risk of being caught , which can result in licensees being ordered to pay significant damages and legal costs ,” she warns .
