Thank You Class of 2024 : Job Well Done !
At the beginning of 2024 , students at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School were also presented with a quote from award-winning principal and author Hamish Brewer , “ You are the sole person responsible for your attitude , and how you choose your attitude impacts everyone with whom you come in contact ”. At Jersey Shore , we identify core principles of being a Bulldog : Courageous , Loyal , Tenacious , Principled , Compassionate . The Class of 2024 embodied everything that we look for in our Bulldogs and more .
This year ’ s Senior Class President , Jocelyn McCracken , reminded the Class of 2024 just how courageous they were , navigating a global pandemic , Canadian wildfires , and an experience they never imagined possible , losing a classmate . McCracken shared , “ Although we had challenges , our class has shown their willingness to persevere , to be resilient , and to adapt to any situation .”
Their compassion was on display throughout the year . Through the month of September , the Class of 2024 led well , showing an entire region what it meant to be a Bulldog . As the year progressed , they organized efforts and worked diligently to bring a Remembrance Garden to our campus . Valedictorian , Emily Stevenson , said it best when thanking her peers . “ You all heal parts of me that you did not break .”
In terms of being principled , the Class of 2024 lived out perspective and a focus on what truly matters . Salutatorian Rayne Herritt acknowledged , “ Accomplishments are great … but in 10 years , this is not what I will look back and think about . Instead , I ’ ll remember the laughs and adventures with great friends . This life is all about small memories that forever warm our hearts .”
We challenged our students at the High School with the idea that we expect your best . Students were told that we weren ’ t settling for average or mediocre . Class of 2024 , you ’ ve far exceeded our expectations . Thank you for your leadership , your commitment to excellence , and for reminding us all , it ’ s always a Great Day to Be a Bulldog !
