One of the generations of Texas singer-songwriters who first defined Americana , Monte Warden has been on the scene since the early 1980 ' s , on his own and as part of two mind-bending groups - The Wagoneers and his current crew , Monte Warden and the Dangerous Few .
A successful songwriter , Warden co-wrote one of George Strait ' s biggest hits , ' Desperately ,' with Bruce Robison . But his career has been a series ofups and downs , and he is still trying to make a name for himself .
His latest disc with the Dangerous Few , Jackpot , includes the song you ' ve heard on the Bear - ' Waxahachie Hoochie Coo .'

He has been a part of the country music community for more than 30 years , been nominated for a Grammy , co-written songs you know , like ' Just Call Me Lonesome ,' and had his own hits , like ' Lipstick Promises .'
He ' s George Ducas , and his new disc " Long Way From Home ," is the culmination of his more than quarter-century quest to merge disparate influences .
In George ' s words : “ I wanted the songs I wrote for this album to be what would happen if ’ 67 Merle Haggard met up maybe with the ’ 74 Eagles in LA , and they hit it off and decide to play a show at Gilley ’ s in Pasadena , Texas in 1981 .”
Produced by Pete Anderson , known for his long spell as Dwight Yoakam ' s band leader and his production work with Lucinda Williams , Jackson Browne , and kd laing .
