1 ) Hit Man - Director Richard Linklater is known for his excellent tales from the weird side - after all , he ' s the guy who created Freaks and Geeks ( RIP )... in dozens of films since , he always seems to find unique stories , then his directorial skills lead to flicks you cannot get enough of . This " based on a true story " is yet another Linklater classic - See it ! - on Netflix ...
2 ) Your Honor - A legal series that answers the question , " What will Bryan Cranston do after Breaking Bad ?" We get this okay but not great story of deceit and lies after respected judge Cranston ' s son is involved in a hit and run ... Feels tired - But watch it anyway on Paramount ...
3 ) Eric - Speaking of weird , this case study of a marriage that just doesn ' t work spreads shrapnel everywhere through Vincent ( Benedict Cumberbatch ), a troubled puppeteer whose inner rage poisons everything around him , especially his son . Worth watching - on Netflix ...
4 ) After the Flood - Yes , I know - the last thing you need is another streaming service ... BUT ... a 7 day free pass for BritBox , available thru Roku , will give you time to watch all 5 episodes of this series that stars Sophie Rundle as a detective who will not let go of her belief that what her superiors say was a suicide was in fact a murder . Rundle is terrific - this month ' s sleeper ! See it - on BritBox ...
5 ) Atlas - Jennifer Lopez , who seemingly cannot turn down a chance to play against type , does her best - and you believe her when she has to recite the horrible lines she is given here , but this sci-fi adventure collapses despite her good work ... see it if you watch everything she does ... If not , avoid it ! - on Netflix ...
