July 2024 ASCE-NH Section Lunch & Learn Webinar Summary
The 2024 ASCE-NH Section Lunch and Learn Webinar Series continued with a July summer session . Per usual , it was extremely well attended via Zoom , bringing over 100 attendees together ! The Webinar Series continues to provide an excellent opportunity for ASCE-NH Members ( and Non-Members ) to receive PDHs from ASCE-NH ’ s educational initiative ; make sure to stay on the lookout for these fantastic presentations throughout the year .
The July Webinar was led by representatives from the City of Manchester , NH , Department of Public Works – Owen Friend-Gray , PE ( Deputy Public Works Director ), Kristen Clarke , PE , PTOE ( Traffic Engineer ), and Caleb Dobbins , PE ( Highway Chief Engineer ). The focus of the presentation was the City ’ s on-going RAISE ( Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity ) Grant Project taking place in its South Millyard area ; RAISE Grants are awarded by the US Department of Transportation on a competitive basis for surface transportation infrastructure projects that will have a significant local or regional impact . The Grant , which was awarded in 2021 , will improve safety and connectivity across the City , as well as mitigate congestion in the Millyard area . The revitalization of this District will ultimately create a new roadway , bridges , bicycle , and pedestrian infrastructure . Currently the Project is in its design / permitting phase but is anticipated to be out to bid during the first half of 2025 with construction taking place through 2029 .
Thank you to Owen , Kristen , and Caleb , for their time and effort to make the July Webinar exceptional . Learning about the RAISE Grant Program and how it is helping the City of Manchester was very informative and interesting . Lastly , thank you to all of those in attendance ; as noted above , stay tuned for future Lunch and Learn Webinars with the ASCE-NH Section .
