Hello and welcome to the July edition of Soltalk .
Are you double jabbed yet ? More and more people are and let ’ s hope this is the key to a return to normal life after over a year of pandemic , lockdown and gloomy news .
The Spanish Health Ministry announced last month that those who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 won ’ t have to quarantine if they come into contact with a positive case .
“ People who are fully vaccinated and considered a close contact ( of a positive case ) will generally be exempt from the quarantine rule ,” the Health Ministry explained in a press release .
A close contact is defined by the Health Ministry as anyone who has been in the same place as a positive case , at a distance of fewer than two metres , for more than 15 minutes . Under the previous rules , anyone in this situation needed to self-isolate for 10 days .
And by the time you read this , the wearing of masks outdoors in Spain will no longer be mandatory . Exceptions would be in crowded streets or when queueing outside or where social distance cannot be maintained . But for months to come , face coverings will still be required indoors .
Meanwhile it ’ s summer and there are plenty of gorgeous beaches so have a wonderful July !
