The MGA contested the “ Trifecta ” tournament in June ( results in Tournament section ), which is always a challenging but fun event , with all those playing enjoying the format .
While it was sad to bid farewell to John Greiner and Cody Creel , the club is fortunate to have Ricky Weber and Gerald Richardson backfill for them . Both have done a great job in jumping into their roles and getting to know all the members ! We greatly appreciate their efforts in running the Trifecta tournament , including the scorecards reminding us of the format for each hole , as well as donating some prizes for closest to the pin . Thank you both !
The MGA takes a tournament hiatus in July and August , since these months are typically the hottest and wettest and the most likely months to have adverse weather or sloppy course conditions due to downpours and make completing a tournament a challenge . As we enter the summer months , let ’ s all be good stewards of the course , observing cart path restrictions when they are in place . By staying on the cart paths as much as possible , particularly around all the tee boxes and greens , we avoid damage to the turf and creating ruts next to the paths .
Stay “ cool ” this summer , we ’ ll resume play on September 18 with the “ Same Tee Box ” flighted tournament , where you play net against players from the same tee box you play .
