Q & A with Jillian Gutierrez Continued
What is your role with the company ?
My role at KYSEK ® is one of many hats ! I work one-on-one with my dad , the CEO of KYSEK , to develop many new products . Dad designs it , and I make it pretty ; we are a great team . I graduated from University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design . At the time , I thought my path would take me to New York or Dallas , never did I think I would stay right here in Louisiana working for my Dad . Throughout college , Dad was never too excited about my degree choice ; but now with where we have taken KYSEK since I came on board about 18 months ago , he fully appreciates my decision and realizes just how much his investment in now paying off . When I am not working on product development , I oversee all aspects of marketing for the company as well as managing the KYSEK Pro Staff Team which is a full time job in itself . Trade shows are my favorite part of my job though . I love designing a booth and prepping to bring our products in front of the biggest eyes in the industry , it is unlike anything I have ever felt before . Last year was my first trade show , ICAST in Orlando , FL . I had never been more proud to show people the product my Dad designed . It really is a huge honor to me that my Dad and his partners let me become a member of the KYSEK team .
Where do you see KYSEK in five years ?
Well , if we ’ re talking about my relationship with KYSEK , I would say hopefully sitting with my toes in the sand , drinking a cocktail , and working from a laptop to push the company even further , all while enjoying the success we ’ ve had ! But aside from that , I see us at a rate where we are seeing not only our ice chests being globally recognized products , but also having KYSEK become a globally recognized brand !
