SPEEDWAY 51 The North Country Family Restaurant Go Karts were back in action on the special built asphalt go-kart track at Speedway 51. It was a very close finish for the Rookie class as Chase Robinson of Lyndonville, Vt. drove to his first ever win in feature number one over Gorham’s “Revvin’ Evan” Gilbert and coming home in third was Brandon Sheldon of St. Johnsbury, Vt.. Third generation hot shoe “Lil’” Brendan Moodie of Wolcott, Vt. won the second feature with another third generation driver, Jesse Laquerre of Montpelier, Vt. finishing a close second and “the king” Ashton Kenison, a new third generation driver in only his second week, finishing third. “Revvin’ Evan” Gilbert won the first heat race with Mylee Kenison and Chase Robinson rounding out the top three. Brendan Moodie won heat race number two with Jesse Laquerre and Ashton Kenison rounding out the top three. Groveton’s hometown warrior Lukee Shannon continued in the Mini Pros with a dominating performance from the rear for another feature win over Kamryn Ledger of Lancaster and Jesse Dunham of North Concord, Vt., rounding out the top three. Kamryn Ledger won the heat race followed closely by Shannon and Marissa Kenison. The new “Big Kids” class saw second generation driver Chad Kenison of Lancaster getting his first checkered flag in feature event with third generation driver “Honkin’ Julian” Kenison coming across the line in second over Groveton’s Christopher “Cridda” Shannon rounding out the top three. Julian Kenison won the heat race with Shannon and Chad Kenison rounding out the top three. The next race for the North Country Family Restaurant Go Kart drivers is Saturday, July 9, with Rookie, Mini Pro, and Big Kids divisions set to do battle in their fourth event of the season. Post time is 10 am. Pit fee is $10 and grandstand fee is $5.
