Sunday, September 4 on the iconic field where the magic of the film Field of Dreams began 27 years ago, Major League Baseball’s most celebrated players will take to the field for a celebrity game, as well as an autograph session with the players and performance by LANco, a Nashville up-and-coming country act. The 2016 player roster includes: Reggie Jackson, Ted Simmons, Ozzie Smith, Johnny Bench, Curt Schilling, Ivan Rodriquez, Fergie Jenkins, Lee Smith, Robin Yount, Willie McGee, and Steve Carlton. The famous Ghost Players will also take to the field Sunday. Wrap up the weekend with a screening of The Field of Dreams on the field it was shot. Visit TeamOfDreamsIowa.com. This marionette show by the Fever River Puppeteers is the classic fairy tale about a little man with a secret name. The miller is guilty of bragging, which endangers his daughter, and the king is guilty of greed. This original production features surprise appearances by a few favorite puppets. The 45-minute performance is appropriate for all ages, with enough comedy to keep the adults entertained. After the last curtain, the puppets are brought out front for photo ops and a Q&A.
