Dubuque Oktoberfest & Color Vibe 5K
Saturday, September 17
10 AM (5K) & 11 AM (Fest) @ A.Y. McDonald Park
Enjoy a day of family fun, rain or shine, under the
huge “festspiele zelt” (festival tent) by the Mississippi River. The annual Color Vibe 5K run begins
at 10:00 a.m. (sign-in at 8:00 a.m.), followed by the opening of Oktoberfest at 11:00 a.m. with
the Guttenberg German Band. The festival features: the marching in of the keg (1:00 p.m.);
UNI Dancers dance lessons (1:30 p.m.) and performance (2:00 p.m.); local dancers (2:30
p.m.); Weiner dog parade (2:45 p.m.) and races (3:00 p.m.); Loras College German Band (3:30
p.m.); a craft bier tasting with over 25 breweries (3:30-6:30 p.m.); bier stein holding contest
(4:30 p.m.); and the Americana Band (5:15 p.m.). Other activities include HammerSchlagen,
Plunger Toss, Tug of War, and inflatables. The festival closes at 8:00 p.m. All proceeds benefit
Camp Albrecht Acres. General admission to the festival is $5, free for children under 10. Advance bier tasting and general admission tickets are $25. Visit DbqOktoberfest.org.
Tea with the Duchess

fashion, culture, and customs, until Elizabeth Armstrong of Blackhawk War fame
brings with her a taste of chaos and hijinks.
