@ WATER ST . ( SHULLSBURG , WI ) Shullsburg welcomes fall with their 19th annual family festival celebrating the cheese heritage of the quaint , historic city . Live stage entertainment features popular girl band Precocious , the Hugo Experience , and local talent . Water Street fills with craft , vintage , antiques , and baked good vendors . Find food trucks specializing in cupcakes , lunches from local producers , FFA Cheesecurds , a Fireman ’ s Breakfast , and well-established local pubs and restaurants with fare and atmosphere to meet every taste . Try your hand at building scarecrows , take a hayride through town and view all the scarecrows on display , send your older children to play laser tag in the park , have your caricature drawn by a street artist , complete a corn maze , or take your children to the kids ’ games . TRI-STATE ’ S LARGEST CHILI COOK-OFF

The historic Dubuque square transforms into an aromatic chili tasting and competition with live music and beer . The family-friendly cook-off also features a variety of kids ’ games , food , and entertainment . Tasting spoons are $ 5 . Proceeds of this CASI Sanctioned Chili Cook-off benefit local charities .

GREAT RIVER ROAD FESTIVAL GRAPE STOMP & HOG ROAST

This festival includes grape stomp participation , food , Potosi root beer , and live music by the Wundos . Guests 21 + also enjoy a wine tasting from three different wineries .
