IN MY LIFE: A MUSICAL THEATRE TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES
Friday, May 20
7:30 PM @ Grand Opera House
You already know and love the songs, but this musical theatre tribute to the Beatles
gives you a chance to get a fresh perspective on the story of the band that made them.
More than just a live musical tribute show, this nationally touring, award-winning
production tells the Fab Four’s tale through the eyes of their late manager, Brian Epstein, who acts as narrator to renowned tribute band Abbey Road’s live performance
of some 33 Beatles classics. From their groundbreaking appearance on the Ed Sullivan
Show to their final rooftop performance
at the Apple Corp. offices, and “I Want to
Hold Your Hand” to the psychedelic era
of Sgt. Pepper’s and beyond, this exciting
production gives new life to the story of
rock’s greatest band. Tickets are $34, $39,
and $49. Call (563) 588.1305 or visit TheGrandOperaHouse.com.
ART @ YOUR LIBRARY
Ends Friday, May 20
Regular Hours @ Carnegie-Stout
Public Library
Art @ Your Library hosts an art show featuring the work of Amy Fuller, Lyndal Anthony,
and Joan Overhouse. Amy’s pen and ink
work is narrative-based, often infused with
a dark sense of humor sometimes portraying how she feels about humanity. Lyndal’s
woodturning ornamental art reflects the
beauty of wood and as it is created on a
lathe. Joan’s works in collaboration with
Lyndal as a pyrographer, an artist who
decorates wood with burn marks enhanced
by the rich grain of the piece. The exhibit is
free and open to the public. Many works will
