Finley Welcomes New Staff
UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital is
pleased to announce that Lisa Sullwold
has joined the hospital as Executive Director of the Surgical Services. She has a history with UnityPoint Health, most recently
working as a Supervisor of Surgical Services for UnityPoint
Health – Des Moines.
In that role, Sullwold
supervised the following departments:
surgery scheduling,
pre-anesthesia testing, preoperative,
surgery, post-anesthesia care unit, and
central sterile processing. She manages
many surgery cases including orthopedics,
spine, general surgery, gynecology, urology
and more. She started her career as an
operating room nurse and transitioned to
orthopedic team leader, both at UnityPoint
Health – Des Moines.

Mercy Earns Fourth “A” Grade
for Patient Safety
Mercy Medical Center – Dubuque received
its fourth consecutive “A” Hospital Safety
Score from The Leapfrog Group. Fall scores
were announced on October 31, 2016. The
Leapfrog Group assigns A, B, C, D, and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide to provide a complete picture of patient safety
in the U.S. health care system. Mercy’s
“A” grade ranks the hospital among the
safest in the United States, and its fourth
consecutive “A” confirms Mercy’s ongoing
commitment to protecting patients from
errors, injuries, and infections.
Developed under the guidance of Leapfrog’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel, the Hospital Safety Score uses 30 measures of
publicly available hospital safety data to
assign A, B, C, D, and F grades to more
than 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It
is calculated by top patient safety experts,
peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free
to the public.
