Japanese designer Junya Watanabe sent his avant garde collection down the runway with Puma trainers for the Spring / Summer 2014 collection and Moschino chose colourful Nike Air Max trainers over their normal bright high heels . Valentino have created studded , pink lacy trainers , staying true to their signature design aesthetic . Raf Simons showed sneakers at Dior , and Karl Lagerfeld followed suit at Chanel , when he sent every single one of his models down the catwalk in lace-up sneakers at the Chanel couture show in Paris in January . Cara Delevingne , one of the biggest street wear inspirations was pleased saying " I hate high heels more than anything .” Numerous other celebrities have been seen sporting the trainer trend such as Rihanna , Rita Ora and Beyonce .
The trainer obsession is further seen in celebrity culture with Kanye West ’ s design collaboration with Nike to create the ‘ Air Yeezy ’ although since the disaster of the delayed release and then unexpected drop on twitter , he ’ s left Nike and closed a $ 10 million deal with Adidas .
If you still haven ’ t tried the trainer trend , our advice to start off is to wear the classic original white high top Converse first , before wearing the bolder brands like Nike , Adidas and New balance . Whatever the colour make sure to keep them clean and ‘ boxfresh ’.
