Gold

Riner's approach to fighting his biggest rivals has always been to fight the prudent fight, and go for shidos rather than ippon. And so it was with match against Harasawa, who incurred two shidos before starting to fight back. At the end of five minutes the shido count was 2:1 in favor of Riner. He had won his second Olympic gold medal albeit through shido play.
