Among your peers, who are your favourite male and female players?

For my favourite male player, I would say Shohei Ono of Japan who does great judo, with lots of different techniques. He was amazing in Rio. For my favourite female player, I have to say Tina Trstenjak of Slovenia whom I admire a lot. She works really, really hard. I know her very well and I have seen how much she has improved over the past few years.

What do you like to do besides judo?

I don’t have so much free time but when I do I like to read books and do some shopping.

Are you able to take a break without thinking about judo?

When I’m on a holiday, I do try to not think about judo but I have found that it’s impossible. Judo has brought a lot of good things for me, for my family, for my coach and for my country. Judo is really a way of life for me.

You speak English well. Do you speak any other foreign languages?

It is common for people in Kosovo to speak English especially among the young generation as they learn English at school from a really young age. I can also speak Croatian and a little bit of Spanish.
