Lastly , the WLS Committee offered two bonus sessions , a charcuterie board how-to demonstration with The Heart Boxes and a “ Let ’ s Talk About It ” networking session . Participants in the charcuterie board demonstration learned how to make use of the small cutting boards included with their Women ’ s Leadership Summit registration gifts .
This year ’ s Summit extended beyond the March 5th event with three “ Continued Perspectives ” webinars , beginning with the Alabama Securities Commission on March 31st . Amanda Senn and Faith Feaga discussed “ LIFE in the Pink Car : Financial Empowerment for Women ” and offered resources and information to help us take control of our financial wellbeing . On April 27th , Jackson Hospital ’ s Dr . Miho Suga helped educate us about some common women ’ s cancers and ways that we can help prevent them , or at least allow for earlier detection . And on May 18th , Montgomery County Commissioner Ronda Walker and Community Advocate Khadidah Stone led a very open and interactive conversation about how each of us can help make changes in our community , whether through running for office , participating in grassroots campaigns , or simply becoming an effective advocate .
