This year ’ s sessions included “ Prioritizing Purpose , Propelling Productivity ” with Lara Wilson , vice president of Mission Advancement with the YMCA of Greater Montgomery ; “ De-Cluttered : Organized Home , Organized Life ” Kim McBrayer , professional organizer and CEO of Space Cadets in Birmingham ; “ Healthy Shortcuts to Overcome the Overwhelm ” with Heather Campbell , MS , RDN LDN ; “ Manifesting Wealth : Women and Finances ” with Sommer Morris of RFG Advisors and Tarah Keech of Tarah Keech Coaching ; and “ Charting Your Success : Living Intentionally for Career Success ” with Dr . Maranda Griffin , PhD , LPC , LMHC of MG Consultation , LLC .

Planning committee members had worried that some of the networking and personal interaction that is such a highlight of this event would be lost in a virtual format , but that turned out not to be the case . Instead , it was clear that many of us are facing the same concerns and hurdles in our daily lives , and a virtual format allowed attendees a space to open up and share experiences . Even with such varied breakout topics , certain messages were very consistent : start with small , manageable goals ; choose your priorities and make a plan ; know your limits ; and do not get overwhelmed . It seems that some lessons are consistent no matter the circumstances !
Funds raised through the Women ’ s Leadership Summit help fund the EmpowHERment Scholarship , which was created to help support women in our community achieve their goals and aspirations . This year , the Women ’ s Leadership Summit Committee received a record 22 applications , all of which were fantastic proposals that would benefit women in our community in a variety of ways . The committee was excited to fund two scholarships for the first time since the event ’ s inception .
