THIS IS THE JUNIOR LEAGUE

From the President

The pandemic didn ’ t stop the Junior League of Montgomery ! The members of the Junior League of Montgomery have once again shown resiliency , determination , and grit to live out our mission of promoting voluntarism , developing the potential of women , and improving the community . Thank you to our corporate sponsors , members , and community for your support during this uncertain time .
In a year where we have been reminded of the things we didn ’ t get to do , I want to remind you of all that the Junior League of Montgomery did .
• Adopted a policy condemning discrimination , racism , and social injustice .
• Built a playground for 90 students at Montgomery Christian School .
• Took children from Brantwood Children ’ s Home back-to-school shopping and hosted a scavenger hunt that ended with pizza and soda , providing a sense of normalcy .
• Prepared a classroom for the children at Mary Ellen ’ s Hearth . Since the children had to learn remotely , this project took on extra meaning , and plans were adjusted to have the room ready before school started .
• Decorated and furnished pods for families adopting service dogs . These dogs give people their independence back .
• Hosted a virtual diversity , equity and inclusion training in December for leagues across the state of Alabama .
• Delivered meals to families in the Washington Park Community .
• Prepared tax returns for Alabamians helping them save thousands in tax fees .
• Designed , executed , and created a home for women who have been victims of domestic violence so that they would have a safe place to stay .
• Helped children with autism learn to ride a bike .
WOW ! That ’ s a long list of accomplishments , and you have a lot to be proud of . It was a pleasure to serve with the women of the Junior League of Montgomery this year ! I am so appreciative of the board of directors , fundraising chairs , and community chairs who were energized by the challenge to re-think , re-imagine , and re-envision the standard way of doing things . YOU were truly the best part of this year !
As we move into our 96th year , I am excited to see the impact you will continue to have . We are better together !
