The Cabarrus County Sparks won Best of Show in the Cheerleader Showcase and vocal soloist Lynn Fink won Best of Show for her rendition of “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” The Sparks and Fink will represent Cabarrus County Senior Games at the statewide competition in Raleigh this September. The SilverArts program encourages and recog- nizes creative potential and accomplishment as part of a philosophy to keep seniors healthy, active and involved. For more information on the Cabar- rus County Senior Games, call 704-920-3484. Helpful tips: • You can only enter one item into each category. • Competitive exhibit entry items should be cre- ated between September 8, 2018 and August 21, 2019. • Contestants who place must submit a W-9 tax form in order to claim their prize money. If you prefer NOT to fill out a form, you will still receive a ribbon. Please note the missing W-9 on your entry form. • Select one method for sending in your paper- work. Using more than one method could result in duplication and disqualification of your entry. For more information, visit the Cabarrus County Fair website or call the Fair Office at 704-786-7221. 8 JOURNEYS Summer 2019 TOP: Lynn Fink won Best in Show for her vocal solo at the 2019 SilverArt Follies.
