Parking deck opens
in Downtown Concord
Cabarrus County opened a new five-story, 614-spot
parking deck on the corner of Corban Avenue SW
at Spring Street SW in Concord, across from the
Cabarrus County Courthouse. Construction began
in January 2018. The deck addresses parking
demands for courthouse activities, supports growth
in downtown Concord and accommodates evening
and weekend visitors. The County has waived park-
ing fees for now and will announce any changes to
fee structure before they take effect.
Powerful Tools is a FREE six-week class series
for caregivers of individuals 60 years or older

tion is required. FREE respite care may be avail-
able. For more information, call 704-920-1887.

Medication drop boxes
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is
Saturday, April 27, but did you know you can
properly dispose of medications any day of the
year? DO NOT flush medications down the toilet
or throw them in the trash. Improper disposal can
lead to unintentional poisonings and harm to the
environment. Instead, dispose of prescription medi-
cations, cold and flu medications, pain relievers,
cough syrups, topical ointments, vitamins and pet
medications at area medication drop boxes.
