2 3 Government 101 announces spring series Library branch comes to Midland Cabarrus County is holding a series of free interac- tive workshops to better inform citizens about the work of Cabarrus County Government. Each work- shop includes panels, activities and demonstrations. Cabarrus County has partnered with the Town of Midland to open a new branch of the Cabar- rus County Public Library System. Located next to Town Hall at 2497 Suite C, HWY 24/27, the 2,682-square-foot facility includes an activity room for library programs. The library offers print, digital and audiobooks; Launchpad personal learn- ing devices; public computers; and programs for all ages, including storytime, book discussions and special presentations. Serving the Underserved, April 4: Cabarrus is developing a strategic initiative to transform families from poverty to prosperity. Learn how the Cabarrus Department of Human Services is col- laborating with the community to develop a four- pronged approach to human services delivery. The Recycling Crunch, May 22: Our landfill faces space limitations and the recycling indus- try is undergoing major changes. Budget Breakdown, June 14: Learn more about the County’s budgeting process, get answers to your budget questions and provide valuable feed- back on the County’s proposed budget before the Board of Commissioners votes on the matter. Tax advisors answer questions and help complete tax returns for senior adults Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Cabarrus County Senior Center, Concord. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Drop-ins are served as time permits.
