and Healthcare Management Symposium, “Re-Emerging Outbreaks:
Journeys Spring 2015
Ebola, Measles—What’s Next?,” will discuss the vital role nurses
and healthcare managers play in preventing and controlling future
outbreaks. Sharon Buchbinder, RN, Ph.D., Professor and Program
Coordinator, M.S. in Healthcare Management at Stevenson University,
will speak on the dilemma healthcare professionals confront when facing re-emerging epidemics, such as Ebola and measles. Gary Hicks, MS,
RN, Director of Education, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake
Health, will provide the local community hospital’s perspective on
managing this global phenomenon. By the conclusion of the symposium, attendees will be armed with knowledge about current prevention
measures in local healthcare organizations.
