AARP Tax Assistance
Board of Commissioners
AARP trains volunteers to prepare taxes and utilizes
other volunteers to assist with appointment scheduling, taxpayer check-in, document organization and tax
payer interviews . An information session for interested
volunteers will take place November 16, 10 a.m., at
the Cabarrus County Senior Center, Concord. Those

The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners
makes citizen appointments to a number of boards,
committees, commissions and authorities. Those
who serve make important contributions to the direction of Cabarrus County. Recent vacancies include
Nursing Home, Planning and Zoning, and Adult

Volunteers at the Senior Centers
The Cabarrus County Senior Center Volunteer Program is looking for seniors who want to share their
lifetime of skills and knowledge to increase, expand
and enhance programs.
Cabarrus County Animal Shelter is accepting volunteers to help at the facility off Hwy 49 in Concord.
Volunteer activities include walking the dogs,
supervising and playing with the animals, assisting
the rescue coordinator, cleaning and laundry. For

Join the Cabarrus County
Council on Aging

Cabarrus County Council on Aging is a non-profit
volunteer-run group that advocates for and increases
awareness of the needs of seniors. The Council
also supports, through volunteers and/or donations,
many programs and events of the Senior Centers.
Membership is $3/individual or $5/couple per year,
payable directly to the Council on Aging. For more
