VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AARP Tax Assistance Program Administrators Board of Commissioners Citizen Committees AARP trains volunteers to prepare taxes and utilizes other volunteers to assist with appointment scheduling, taxpayer check-in, document organization and tax payer interviews . An information session for interested volunteers will take place November 16, 10 a.m., at the Cabarrus County Senior Center, Concord. Volunteers at the Senior Centers Animal shelter The Cabarrus County Senior Center Volunteer Program is looking for seniors who want to share their lifetime of skills and knowledge to increase, expand and enhance programs. Cabarrus County Animal Shelter is accepting volunteers to help at the facility off Hwy 49 in Concord. Volunteer activities include walking the dogs, supervising and playing with the animals, assisting the rescue coordinator, cleaning and laundry. The Council also supports, through volunteers and/or donations, many programs and events of the Senior Centers.
