With such a long waiting list,
many of our students are not fully
enrolled in our developmental
program until age three and do
not receive services during the
extremely formative years between
ages zero and three when 85% of
a child’s brain is formed. Early
access to special education and
therapy interventions maximize
opportunities for the brain to
“rewire around any limitations the
child may be experiencing.”
We have so many ways we want to
work towards eliminating our 2-3
year waiting list, one of those ways
was opening our Family Learning
Center. When the Family Learning
Center is operating at full capacity,
it will serve approximately 275
additional children and families.
However, for this new building to be
fully functioning and to expand our
services we need to increase our
budget by an estimated $200k per
year over the next 5 years.
