"

I want to be a voice for Afghan women and girls ."
Hearing the applause after giving a speech in high school helped me realize that I have the confidence and courage to express my ideas in front of people . I ’ m studying journalism to learn how to present information that helps people form opinions and make prudent decisions . I ’ m hoping to inspire other girls to follow their dreams , work hard for their goals , and never doubt themselves . I was excited to be on campus this year and meet new people , but that didn ’ t happen . The new normal is virtual classes , virtual meetings , virtual gatherings , and staying at home . The pandemic created new challenges . It also taught us some good things .
We ’ re practicing better hygiene . We ’ re spending more time with our families . We ’ re learning new skills and doing indoor hobbies like painting — my favorite . There ’ s something positive in every negative situation ; we just need to see the glass as half full .
