Your generosity already makes a difference. The way you give can, too.

A Smarter Way to Give

By Trudy Roberts
Your generosity already makes a difference. The way you give can, too.
When we think about increasing our charitable impact, we often assume that means giving more. But sometimes, making a greater impact simply means reconsidering how we give.
Depending on your financial circumstances, there may be ways to support Central Asia Institute( CAI) that offer tax advantages or allow more of your charitable dollars to go directly toward the causes you care about.
Give from your IRA: For donors 70½ and older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution( QCD) allows you to make a gift directly from your IRA to an eligible charity such as CAI. QCDs may provide tax advantages and may also count toward required minimum distributions( RMDs) for those required to take them.
Give appreciated stock: Donating appreciated securities directly to CAI, rather than selling them first, may allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while potentially receiving a charitable deduction.
Include CAI in your estate plans: A gift through your will, trust, or beneficiary designation can create a lasting legacy without affecting your finances today. Planned gifts of any size can help ensure future generations of girls and women have access to education and opportunity.
Give through a donor-advised fund: If you have already set aside charitable dollars in a donor-advised fund( DAF), you can recommend a grant to CAI at any time.
While we understand every donor ' s financial situation and charitable goals are different, we encourage you to consult with your financial or tax advisor to determine which giving strategies may be right for you.
