SALEHA
Afghan entrepreneur nurturing and caring for her mushroom crop
For years, Saleha stayed home. Educated, capable, and eager to contribute, it was not lack of knowledge and skills that kept her there. She simply lacked the opportunity to put them to work.
Then, through a CAI training course, Saleha learned a simple mushroom growing technique suited to small spaces and short growing seasons.
“ I felt stuck. I had an education but no chance to use it. I needed something that could bring me back into life again. This program not only gave me training. It gave me a reason to wake up with hope every morning."— Saleha, Shorabak Village, Afghanistan
