Shahnoza Pahlavonova, a
first grader at Vanqala School in
Tajikistan, likes going to school
because
her
school
is
“new
and beautiful.” She says she is
proud to be a student there and
that other students from other
villages wish they could go to her
school too because it is so much
nicer than others in the area.
Her favorite subjects are reading,
writing, and learning languages,
especially English, but most of all
she likes doing homework.
Outside of school, some of her
favorite things are blue dresses
and red flowers. One day she
hopes to become a doctor because
“doctors can treat every disease”
and she will “cure everyone who is
ill in the village.”
