o On February 15th 1820 Susan B. Anthony was born

o She fought for women's rights

o She was arrested in 1872 for voting illegally in a presidental election

o She fought hard for the abolition of slavery

o At age 17 she collected anti-slavery petitions

o In 1856 she became an agent for the American Anti- Slavery Society

o In 1861 Anthony gave a speech on why the country she be desegregated

o She died March 1906, at the age of 86

o She lived long enough to see slavery abolished, but not long enough to see women gain the right to vote
