SCOTT QUIGG

Opponent: Viorel Simion

Outright: 1/25

TKO: 13/8

Points: 8/15

Scott Quigg is no stranger to the big stage. He has already been the proud owner of the WBA World super bantamweight title only to lose it in a unification bout with Carl Frampton in February of last year.

Held at the Manchester Arena, the fight was one of the biggest of 2016 so Quigg will not be overawed by the Wembley atmosphere on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old has since moved up to featherweight and looked impressive in his TKO win over Jose Cayetano last time out.

His clash with Viorel Simion has been upgraded to an eliminator for the IBF featherweight title. The current holder of that belt? A certain Lee Selby.

What a fight that could prove to be should Quigg deal with the Romanian this weekend.

Simion's only career defeat to date was actually against Selby so will provide a stern test.

Not the biggest of punchers, Simion is a tidy boxer capable of putting together impressive combinations but his ratio of nine stoppages from 21 victories suggests that he doesn't possess the power to trouble Quigg too much.

Teaming up with legendary trainer Freddie Roach can only have a positive impact and the American has claimed that Quigg is a harder worker than Philippine pound for pound great Manny Pacquiao.

High praise indeed. Can Quigg now back it up?
