Joshua Assistant City Manager Mike Peacock said the park is heavily visited, especially during the summer to play on the splash pad and during baseball sea- son. The JBSA schedules the games and operates the concession facility, with city park staff maintaining the fields. The pavilion is available for rental, with the pond stocked with catfish, black bass and perch. The park also hosts movies in the park for resi- dents and the annual Spark in the Park for Joshua ISD students to receive free school supplies, hair- cuts and physicals free of charge. The park is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Special permission may be granted by the city manager or their designee for organized sports or special events that may last past closing time. Joshua Community Guide 25 Joshua YMCA The Joshua Community YMCA, 1009 Joshua Station Blvd., provides an array of programs for adults to children. Active older adults can gain strength and energy while enjoying a variety of so- cial events at the YMCA, with activities ranging from group exercise classes de- signed especially for seniors to pot luck lunches or special trips. The SilverSneakers Fitness programs is a physical activity, lifestyle and social-ori- ented program designed to encourage members to increase their levels of physical activity and motivate them to continue to be active. The program reflects senior sensi- tivity, promotes social interaction and en- courages participation in healthy lifestyle activities. Adult programs include basketball, vol- leyball, softball, racquetball, zumba and other types of classes throughout the year.
