Lots of activities for all ages , residents in Joshua

From a bustling city park with state-of-the-art baseball fields to a YMCA and batting cages , there are many fun recreational activities for all ages in Joshua .
Joshua City Park , 821 N . Main St ., has playground equipment , a basketball court , splash pad , pavilion , fishing pier and pond , walking trails , restrooms and baseball fields .
The city purchased the land for the park from a local resident and received a donation of 6 acres from the Joshua Baseball and Softball Association that adjoined the park land together making it a 26-acre park .
Fishing is encouraged in the pond , which has been stocked with catfish , bluegill , red ear and largemouth bass . However , it is “ catch and release ” only . A fishing license issued by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department is required .
Picnic tables and grills are available on a first come , first-served basis . The pavilion may be reserved by calling city hall at 817-558-7447 . The playground is open to the public for play anytime during regular park operating hours . Even if the pavilion is reserved for a private function , the playground is for public use and cannot be reserved . The Splash Pad opens at the end of Memorial Day holiday .
For swimming or indoor activities , check out the Joshua Community YMCA , 1009 Joshua Station Blvd . Active older adults can gain strength and energy while enjoying a variety of social events at the YMCA , with activities ranging from group exercise
