Chess Club
2025 marks the beginning of an exciting journey for the newly established Chess Club. Created to foster strategic thinking and analytical skills through chess, it offers a space where like-minded individuals challenge one another, outmanoeuvre opponents and sharpen their abilities through friendly competition.
From its first session, the club aimed to build an environment that is both welcoming and rigorous. Each CCA session begins with structured practice and analysis of past games, helping members evaluate positions, develop strategies and make better decisions under time pressure. The second part of each session focuses on casual games and tournament preparation, nurturing intellectual growth and healthy competition.
A highlight of the year was training under coach Mr Pe Yeow Low, whose expertise guided members to excel in national tournaments such as the NSI and NST, earning medals that reflected the team’ s dedication. As the Chess Club concludes its inaugural year, it celebrates a strong foundation built on critical thinking, collaboration and passion for the game, confident that its“ first move” will lead to many more victories ahead.
