R Sai Shashank has earned the admiration of his peers for his eloquent and insightful contributions during discussions . As one of the more well-read and recognisable voices in school , he is never afraid to go against the grain and stand by his beliefs . He passionately defends his views and opinions when the need arises . Shashank is positive towards challenges and possesses a willingness to take up responsibilities , showcasing his dependability and commitment in his studies and other pursuits .
Shashank was selected for the School-Based Science Mentorship Programme in 2021 , organised by the MOE Gifted Education Branch . He collaborated with an A * STAR researcher for eight months , investigating biodegradable materials to mitigate the negative impacts of acid rain . His research was showcased at the Youth Science Conference in 2022 . Additionally , Shashank earned a Silver Award in the 2022 International Biomedical Quiz and participated in the Problem X Challenge , where his team ’ s research on alternative meat sources received a Special Award for the Video Bulletin .
In the Signum Fidei programme , Shashank worked with Animal Concerns Research and Education Society ( ACRES ) to create educational tools for children about wildlife protection . As a Patrol Leader in the Pelandok Scouts Unit , he led meetings , camps , and hikes , nurturing junior scouts and earning the Chief Commissioner ’ s Award .
Shashank was a Prefect from 2020 to 2022 . In 2021 , he attended the Joint School Overseas Leadership Online Programme , where he honed his leadership and diplomatic skills through international collaboration . He also participated in the National Youth Achievement Award ( NYAA ) programme , achieving the Silver Award for his commitment to personal development and community service .
Shashank played a pivotal role as a member of the Student Council ’ s Faith Exco from 2023 to 2024 organising the Year 6 Night Study , JC Open House , Orientation Camp , and various celebrations . In 2023 , he was a member of the Organising Committee for the Lasallian Leadership Training Camp ( LLTC ), where his exceptional work led him to be invited to LLTC again in 2024 as a mentor .
Shashank worked with the Ulu Pandan Star Tuition and the Reading Odyssey programme , tutoring students and helped to foster a love for reading . This heightened his passion for education and highlighted areas for improvement within the education system . His involvement in Dance ( CAS ) built his selfconfidence and resilience , and he learnt the importance of personal growth over competition . Shashank ’ s GEP experience in Taiwan deepened his understanding of sustainability , education systems , and the importance of cultural exchange .
Jasmine Goh is a polite , bright and cheerful student who shows a genuine want to work with others and help those around her . She readily reaches out to classmates in need , displaying empathy and kindness . A charismatic student leader , she is responsible , upright , and assertive , and has earned the respect and trust of peers and teachers alike .
As a member of the Student Council ’ s Executive Committee , Jasmine has proven herself to be a reliable team player , pragmatic and adept at problem-solving . Jasmine strives to strike a balance between being a person of integrity and a person for others . She has established herself as such , being someone who her teammates , friends and juniors trust and look towards for help and advice . Jasmine gives her service willingly , always one to put others ’ needs above her own , and readily responds to calls for assistance , be it teachers , councillors or friends , academically or otherwise . She can be counted on for tasks ranging from planning events — Prom Night , Christmas Celebrations , Council Camp to name a few — to small logistical tasks such as setting and cleaning up or doing supply runs .
Besides serving in the Student Council , Jasmine also takes pride in contributing to many other Service CAS , such as Paper Bridges , YoungxHush and BLOODay . Jasmine is fully committed to serving not only SJI , but the wider community . In smaller acts of service , Jasmine is always one to help her batchmates and juniors , be it academically , sharing notes and helping to clarify topics , or emotionally , lending a listening ear to many .
Jasmine ’ s greatest quality is her empathy , which is the driving force behind her service and passion for helping others . Jasmine demonstrates great conviction , willing to stand up for what is right , but always open-minded and ready to learn from others . Jasmine ’ s proudest achievement is to have passed on the SJI spirit to the Year 5s in her orientation group , of which she is proud to have inspired not only love for the SJI community , but sowed seeds of service . Indeed , the Year 5s shared that her warm-hearted disposition and sincere service have inspired their own leadership journeys .
Jasmine is a passionate and determined person who can be counted on to give her best to any project and any person , and has demonstrated the Lasallian qualities of Faith , Service and Community consistently in her leadership and her everyday interactions in SJI .
Shashank is a role model for his peers . He has a sincere commitment to making the world a better place .
