SJI COMMUNITY
Our Wellness Team has also curated a range of activities for the staff of SJI this year .
On 18 February , Mr Alfred Nathan led a team of teachers on a tandem kayaking expedition . The teachers went through a crash course on the basics of kayaking before setting off . They had a fantastic time navigating through the waters of Singapore and bonding with each other .
We also had our first Wellness Day in SJI this year where we invited a number of vendors to treat our staff to a relaxing massage , manicure and tea session in school . It was on a first come first served sign up basis and slots were taken up almost immediately when the email was sent out . We invited visually impaired masseuses to give our teachers a well-deserved neck and shoulder rub , a manicurist to care for the health of our cuticles and Hush Tea Bar , where our staff were taught self-care through a unique and inclusive experience led by a team of deaf TeaRistas .
SJI staff also got up close and personal with dogs from Animal Assisted Interaction Singapore ( AAISG ). AAISG is an organisation that aims to foster meaningful connections between humans and dogs .
As the teachers would be busy marking exam papers , this event aimed to help improve the teachers ’ emotional and mental well-being , as well as facilitate social interactions between teachers and create a more pleasant work environment . Our teachers and staff had a marvellous time bonding with these cute furry animals .
Here ’ s to the closing of yet another eventful year ! Cheers !
