Mr Anthony Khoo was in the education service for 40.5 years . He has guided many batches of Josephians in their learning of Mathematics . Students will remember him for being a wise , caring and inspiring teacher who modelled the way for them through creative means such as motivational videos .
Despite his experience and long service , Anthony was ever open to learning and exploring opportunities to build his competencies as a mathematics educator . He introduced algorithmic thinking in his lessons and welcomed his colleagues to observe his classroom teaching as part of his open classroom initiative .
Within the department , he also utilised his strengths in ICT to help the department develop more resources to enhance the students ’ teaching and learning . SJI will miss a teacher who made Maths both fun and relevant !
Ms Lee Siew Lian was in the education service for almost 40 years , of which 35 years were spent in SJI . She was a passionate and dedicated History teacher . Her enthusiasm knew no bounds , whether she was narrating epic battles , sharing personal anecdotes , or passionately discussing historical events . She made history come alive in the most captivating and memorable ways .
Siew Lian taught her students that history was not merely about memorising dates and events but understanding the complexities of the human experience and learning from the past to shape a better future .
Ms May Teoh was the unsung hero who printed all the students ’ notes , worksheets and school examination papers . May is an approachable person who worked independently and efficiently . She was with SJI for 14 years . She worked well with teachers and her EAS colleagues and always completed her work promptly even for last-minute printing requests .
Her attention to protocols ensured that examination papers were printed and stored safely . She also liaised with the vendors directly and in a timely manner with regards to the repair and servicing of the photocopying machines .
