CHAPTER 5

FLOORBALL

SJI started the Floorball CCA this year with enthusiastic Year 1 and Year 2 students . Despite this year being its inception , the CCA sharpened its players ’ skills significantly . This improved their gameplay and contributed to their accomplished performance on the court , while also ensuring the holistic development of students beyond the court .
The team started the year with a challenging National School Games season . Although they made an early exit in the first round , the experience provided valuable lessons and motivation to improve their performance in future competitions . As a consequence , their performance at the Storvreta Cup was admirable . They reached the quarter finals , where their hard work and dedication to the sport was on full display .
Aside from their sporting commitments , the boys understood the importance of contributing to the larger community . As such , they served as volunteers at the SJI Junior Annual Swim Meet .
The Floorball boys also successfully organised the Lasallian Carnival , a floorball event that brought together Primary 6 students from six schools : Damai Primary , Pasir Ris Primary , St Stephen ’ s , St Anthony ’ s , SJI Junior , and St Gabriel ’ s Primary . This event fostered camaraderie amongst the participants , encouraged healthy competition , and strengthened ties among the schools .
Given the impressive start that this CCA has shown this year , it looks forward to an exciting year ahead with more opportunities for the students to shine . In particular , the team is gearing up for the upcoming Youth Floorball League , which promises to be a valuable learning experience and an opportunity to showcase their skills .
With their unwavering commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship , the team strives for greater success in the future .
