Education and Career Guidance module To prepare Josephians for life after secondary school , the Education and Career Guidance module aims to provide them with opportunities to explore both traditional and non-traditional career paths . This is achieved through direct interactions with industry professionals . These experiences are designed to help students uncover their passions and interests in different sectors and to guide them on their path towards a fulfilling career in their chosen field .
During these interactions , industry experts from fields such as Sustainability , Game Design , Information Technology , and Psychology engage with Josephians . They share their insights and experiences openly , allowing students to gain firsthand knowledge about the roles , job scopes , opportunities , and responsibilities within these industries . Moreover , students also acquire essential transferable skills that are crucial for success in their chosen careers .
Experiential learning opportunities These experiential learning opportunities cover topics such as deportment and dining etiquette . In-house training sessions and external speakers contribute to the comprehensive educational experience . Ms Frida Ho and Mr Syaifudin , alongside our Dean , Ms Winnie Yap , and Head of Level , Mr Chong Chow Wee , conducted an in-house social etiquette and dressing course specifically tailored for the Year 4 cohort , utilising interactive role-playing activities to achieve the learning outcomes .
An external trainer specialising in fine dining and dressing etiquette was also engaged to provide valuable guidance to our students on how to conduct themselves during interviews and formal dinner settings . A practical session on fine dining etiquette took place at the Kensington Ballroom , Serangoon Gardens Country Club , on 31 May 2023 , providing students the opportunity to apply and practice the knowledge they acquired .
As Year 4 students prepare for tertiary education , the teachers conduct both face-to-face and Zoom interview lessons for their respective form classes . During these sessions , the teachers cover interview etiquette , the dos and don ’ ts of interviews , and provide guidance on interview preparation and research . This preparation is particularly beneficial as Year 4 students gear up for scholarship and Direct School Admission ( DSA ) applications in May .
