In Curriculum +, the main focus is to guide the Year 3 and Year 4 students on the OP track in discovering their strengths and develop enduring skills through purposefully designed modules . This programme spans across two years .
YEAR 3 CURRICULUM +
At Year 3 , students are actively engaged in cultivating values and competencies , such as collaboration , self-directedness , risk-taking and problem solving . These are inculcated through participation in Project Work and various electives .
YEAR 3 SEMESTER 1
Project Work offers Josephians a collaborative platform to conduct research on a theme of their interest , drawing from diverse fields of knowledge and applying creative solutions to real-world problems . Engagement in Project Work equips Josephians with essential 21st-century skills , including self-directedness , critical thinking , and effective communication . Beyond its academic scope , Project Work also encourages Josephians to explore and engage with contemporary issues , providing a strong foundation for their future endeavours in post-secondary education .
YEAR 3 SEMESTER 2
Here , students have the opportunity to choose between two electives : Entrepreneurship 101 and Python ( coding ). The elective is an eight-week-long programme .
Entrepreneurship 101 The elective exposes students to different facets of entrepreneurship , with a focus on the individual founder rather than just business development . It utilises the Lean Canvas framework designed by Ash Maurya to guide students in charting their personal entrepreneurial journeys .
Python Programming In this elective , students are introduced to the world of computer programming and are equipped with the skills required to navigate the rapidly evolving technology landscape . Through hands-on experiences and projects , students develop problem-solving abilities , logical thinking , and creativity . They learn Python programming and use it to build their own mechanised cardboard robots with sensors and controls .
