CHAPTER 4
INNOMAKERS PROGRAMME
Elliot Rishi D ’ Cruz ( FN202 ) explaining the Hive 5 to Education Minister , Mr Chan Chun Sing
The Innomakers Programme provides a student-driven learning environment for Josephians to develop , apply , and refine their understanding of various design / innovation concepts and skills . The activities are learner-centred , selfpaced , and highly differentiated through the provision of learning menus and multiple achievement levels , leading to badge attainments .
Igniting the joy of learning through Play , Josephians learn the values of communication and collaboration through Makeathons , the Design Challenge , and the Innovation Competition . In the Design Challenge , they learn to be Agents of Change by innovating in service to the larger community .
The Year 2 IP students were challenged to envision a space for park visitors at the Botanic Gardens ’ Children ’ s Garden and Eco Pond . They visited the site and used Design Thinking to propose a new space that is both sustainable and caters to park users .
