A million watt smile is what defines Wei Pheng . His peers are drawn to his humility and affable demeanour , along with his wit , humour and of course , his smile . He never surrenders when he is down and if he is , he still draws positive energy from those around him and lifts them up at the same time . Those around him leverage on his passion and work ethic and strive to be more like him .
Mr Joseph Edison , his Form Tutor , shares , “ Wei Pheng is very mature for his age . He handles challenging situations in public domains very effectively . This was seen at the recent Signum Fidei presentations when his team was selected to share their work . He handled the questions from the external judge in a succinct , clear and convincing manner . He always comes across as someone who is quiet , but in actuality , he is level-headed and clearly understands the purpose of the tasks assigned to him .”
Ms Rita Roop , his English Tutor , adds , “ Wei Pheng is a joy to have in the classroom . He often has valuable insights to offer and contributes fresh perspectives to ongoing discussions . He is sound , articulate and mature in his views and a keen learner whose passion for learning is commendable .”
Ms Kassandra Lim , his Form Tutor and Biology Tutor , further comments , “ Wei Pheng ’ s bright smile always cheers your day . He is a very committed and driven person who seizes every opportunity to develop his interests to the fullest . Self-motivated and focused , he shows remarkable determination to improve himself . His participation and attitude in class influences others in a positive , respectful way . He does not give up easily in spite of obstacles and perseveres by putting in more effort and seeking clarification when in doubt . Confident and independent , he can be relied upon to carry out his duties efficiently . He works well with his teachers and peers and contributes actively to class discussions . He is also very considerate of others , showing care and concern for his classmates and often encouraging his peers . He approaches life and work with a strong sense of purpose and meaning .”
Wei Pheng is compassionate and understanding . He is sensitive to the needs of people around him , shows a keen sense of respect for others and is dedicated to serving his peers . Grounded and humble , he is indeed a worthy recipient of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award .
Ms Ivy Or , his Geography Tutor , states , “ Wei Pheng is selfmotivated and can be entrusted with responsibilities . Sincere and thoughtful , he is genuine in his interactions with others , and treats everyone with courtesy . He works well with his classmates and his effective teamwork skills helped his pair to earn a distinction for the Geography coursework .”
