Lasallian Distinguished Leadership & Service Award

Goh Ning En Glenda ( TG606 )
Glenda Goh Ning En has been a student of St . Joseph ’ s Institution since 2018 . She successfully completed the requirements of the International Baccalaureate ( IB ) and will be graduating with a Diploma at the end of the 2019 academic year .
Some of her many highlights from before include being awarded a Distinction in the University of South Wales International Competitions and Assessments for School in the English and Writing categories ( 2014-15 ), being placed on the Principal ’ s List in 2014 , and being presented with the Merit Jinyu Award which is given to students with outstanding achievements both academically and in their Co-Curricular Activity ( 2015 ). In 2017 , she was promoted to Staff Sergeant and appointed as Secretary in the Executive Committee of the Girl ’ s Brigade . These accomplishments were obviously recognized and to no surprise she was selected for the World Readiness Trip to Cambridge in 2016 where she visited Radley College .
In 2019 , Glenda was conferred the Distinguished Lasallian Leadership Award , which is SJI ’ s pinnacle award to those individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and devotion to the values and mission of De La Salle . Clearly strong in academics and leadership skills , Glenda also stands out in her selfless and positive attitude directed at caring and helping others . She participated in the Girl ’ s Brigade Friendship Day in 2014 and 2015 where she manned booths catered to the elderly and needy . She was also a Young Docent since 2015 where she aided students from other schools by guiding them through the Asian Civilization Museum . Equally so , her teachers from St . Joseph ’ s Institution applaud Glenda ’ s conscientiousness , discipline , maturity , insightfulness and for being ever willing to adopt and adapt to changing circumstances .
For her Creativity , Activity , Service ( CAS ) portion of the International Baccalaureate , Glenda does not cease to amaze as she has devoted much of her time to service components such as volunteer work at the Rainbow Centre . She helped organize the SJI Mahalo Carnival in 2018 , has spent time with the elderly at Silver Friends and Activity
Centre as well as Meet the People Sessions , and joined the Global Education Programme trip to Camp Mealea in Cambodia for one week . Her skillset and leadership qualities were quickly recognized and she was given the title of Chief Executive Officer for the PRISM activity which has seen her spend countless hours taking this service ( and Creative ) component to a new level . For the Activity potion of CAS , she was a Football player with the Girls team in 2018 .
It goes without saying that Glenda has left a very good impression on her subject teachers , CAS supervisors , her friends , the school community as a whole and external parties she has come in contact with through her service . Glenda gives as much as she can , and asks for nothing in return .
