ROLL OF HONOUR
Senior Section

Spirit of SJI Award & Lasallian Distinguished Leadership & Service Award

Anastasia Kurniadi ( TG605 )
Anastasia is an exceptional student who is not only selfmotivated but has a strong determination to do her very best in whatever she sets out to pursue . Always cheerful and ready with a smile to brighten your day , Anastasia is charismatic and always there to help others around her . More importantly , like St . Joseph , who lived his life by protecting and providing for others , Anastasia always puts others before herself . She has a big heart and does not think only of herself but is often more than willing to commit time to help others around her develop and improve . She is wellloved by her peers who respect her for her selflessness . Even in her academic pursuits , Anastasia does not forget the marginalised in society . The need for her research to have real-world relevance and the desire that her research outcome can help a wider community , especially those who lack a voice , was important for Anastasia and this was seen in her choice of Extended Essay , in which she investigated how the transport system in Singapore can be more inclusive of the physically disabled .
Anastasia is also a very reflective student and this keeps her humble and grounded . What is truly commendable is the honesty of her reflections and sincere desire to achieve greater self-awareness in order to improve her weaknesses . Anastasia also exhibits courage on her part to acknowledge , in her reflections that she is not perfect and makes a commitment to improve these imperfections . Her dedication and diligence towards achieving academic excellence is a constant source of inspiration to her fellow classmates .”
As a member of the SJI community , Anastasia has made many contributions in her position as the Vice-President of the 6th Senior Student Council . Most significant of these would be spearheading the collaboration with the Student Council from the secondary section and planning the inaugural Student Leaders ’ Convention , an event that allowed for greater collaboration between the Student Councils from the secondary and senior sections in the school and it also provided an opportunity for the student leaders of the school to learn from one another , developing stronger leadership qualities in these students . Anastasia also facilitated the Year 1 Catholic Camp in 2018 and helped out with the Praise and Worship for the Year 1 Catholic Camp in 2019 . She was also Stage Manager in Drama Night 2018 and despite lacking experience in this role ,
Anastasia successfully helped to manage a full theatre production and this experience has shown Anastasia ’ s willingness to take risks , her humility to ask for guidance and her determination to see that what she embarks on , is successful . As a leader , Anastasia is well-respected for her ability to bring people together to unite them for a common cause . She leads with positivity and this has been crucial in inspiring those around her to stay optimistic in difficult times .
Anastasia is a role model , an inspiration and her selfless nature has made her an exemplary student and an exceptional leader . But what truly distinguishes Anastasia is her people-centered nature with a sincerity that draws others to her . As she noted in one of her reflections , “ Being in SJI reminds me that life would be much better if we could all just help each other , even if it means being sacrificing a little bit of our time and effort to do so .” In the 2 years that Anastasia has been here , she has shown to embody the values espoused by St . Joseph and the values of SJI . In recognition of her character , work and service , the Lasallian community proudly confers the Spirit of SJI Award and the Lasallian Distinguished Leadership & Service Award to Anastasia Kurniadi .
